so after the much hated verbal brawls and altercations with her near and dear ones, meha kapoor finally decided where she is off too....none other than aamchi mumbai!
wow!! since when did things like these seem all hunky dory to anyone in the right mind? for heaven's sake I'll be in a new city for the next 3 years of my life!! no laughing matter this! no sir...certainly not. its a scary thought considering i have lead 18 years of a well protected and shielded life. (with reference to the blog below) for reasons like these one does tend to feel that du is the place to be. you go to the college with absolutely no hitch, except for a few butterflies in the stomach, as a consequence to the anxiety of a new college. new college...alright!! new city??? oh my f****** god!
so after much consultation, there was a different story headed my way. according to some, it is exciting to be a part of every new place. exciting? one cant be excited....one is nervous...so nervous that one might just have a heart failure. and in times like these exaggeration seems so under-toned.
thousand and one things playing on my mind. too many people to meet, too much unfinished business, too many toiletries to buy...sigh!! and on the other hand, the absence of a billion other things gives me that quaint sinking feeling. absence of friends, absence of good food(read: haldiram's pao bhaji),.....most importantly...dearth of moolah! oh well, my family alone knows how much i thrive on good food, and that how specific i am when it comes to good food. it takes a lifetime for me to try a new dish....so i guess that explains it.
anyway. Bombay.....the only thing that i infer from the word is heavy rains and local trains. which aren't exactly the things that do it for me! god, may the force be with me.
all said and done, i am yet to discover the city and hope that the series of revelations will be pleasant and that one fine day I'll find myself posting a blog which speaks highly of that city. i realise i have developed a major bias for Delhi. and as i write this, my belief becomes even stronger.
blog guess me!....uh...god bless me!
